German BASF boosts production for fungicides in Germany and USA

BASF has committed itself to invest more than EUR 200 million to scale up and further integrate production and formulation capacities to meet continued high demand for several key fungicides, including F 500 (the BASF top fungicide and backbone of the portfolio) and Xemium® (the next generation fungicide that was launched in late 2011)

The investment for expansion goes to the German facilities in Schwarzheide and Ludwigshafen and to Sparks, Georgia (USA). BASF’s Crop Protection division estimates the peak of the sales potential of the BASF pipeline at EUR 2.8 billion.
