Fortune names most powerful Women Entrepreneur
US FORTUNE magazine named Christiane Lemieux, author, founder and creative Director of DwellStudio (New York, USA) to its 2012 list of the most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs
The magazine recognises 10 female entrepreneurs who are outstanding game changers, groundbreakers and innovators. The 2012 list includes women who have created innovative companies across various industries, with Lemieux as the only honouree from the home design category. She will join the FORTUNE Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs community (sharing ideas is the common motto), which includes prominent female leaders such as Lauren Bush Lauren, CEO and Co-Founder, FEED Projects LLC, Jessica Alba, Co-Founder, The Honest Co. and Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss, Rent the Runway.
Lemieux revolutionized the home furnishings market when she launched in 2000 the DwellStudio (furniture, bedding, rugs, artwork, tabletop and the brand’s unique baby and kid’s collections) as a wholesale and retail modern home and lifestyle brand, offering high quality, trendsetting and original items fusing fashion-forward, modern design with luxurious details in home decor. The brand has since evolved and expanded to offer a full range of home decor and children’s furnishings, bringing colour, personality and passion to the next generation of home design.
DwellStudio recently opened a flagship store in New York City’s Soho neighbourhood and a new store-in-store located in H.D. Buttercup in Los Angeles (California, USA).
The 2012 FORTUNE Most Powerful Women Summit has been taking place from October 1 – 3 in Laguna Niguel, California and other women named to the list include Jessica Alba, Co-Founder of The Honest Co., Rashmi Sinha, CEO and Co-Founder of SlideShare, Jill Becker, CEO and Founder of Cambridge NanoTech.
