American Gap is launching exclusive men’s wear collection

American Gap (clothier) launches a new limited edition men’s wear collection with GQ’s Best Men’s wear Designers in the U.S.

BLK, DNM, Ian Velardi, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, Ovadia & Sons, Saturdays NYC and Todd Snyder designed the new exclusive and limited men’s wear collection available at selected Gap stores worldwide and on Gap’s website. There are these six designers who shape the future of men’s wear and bring their distinct visions to life in a way that complements Gap’s casual American point of View with one-of- a kind assortment ranging from accessories to outerwear. GQ’s Best Men’s wear designers’ 2012 collection showcases each rising designer’s signature spin on iconic men’s wear pieces.

Essential items start at USD 20 for boxer briefs and ranging up to USD 348 for more indulgent pieces like a leather bomber jacket. The collection entails hats, belts, knit ties and scarves, graphic tees, fleece hoodies, oxfords and mohair cardigans; chinos, cargo pants, wool trousers and denim; blazers, wool peacoats, parkas and leather bombers.


The six designers and the pieces from their Gap-exclusive capsule collections will be features in a special 14 page advertising insert in the October 2012 issue of GQ (men’s general interest magazine with seven million monthly readers and published by Conde Nast, a division of Advance Publications, and operating in 25 countries and is – according to in-house information a world leader in exceptional content creation) and its Best New Men’s wear designers in America project was established in 2007 and works to advance and bring attention to up-and-coming American men’s wear designers. The recognised designers are selected bei GQ editor-in-chief Jim Nelson and creative director Jim Moore along with the fashion editors of the magazine and took part in a mentoring program led by GQ and Gap.
