Sue Wong unveils “Spring Transcendent” 2013 fashion collection

Internationally acclaimed designer Sue Wong delivered in Los Angeles an immersive sensory experience of her “Spring Transcendent” 2013 collection

The catwalk live show drew Los Angeles’s (USA) leading fashion, media and entertainment insiders along with some of young Hollywood’s hottest actresses, including Jadin Gould of Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel”, Meital Dohan of Showtime’s “Weeds”, Jen Lilley and Lindsey Morgan of ABC’s “General Hospital”, Kearran Giovanni of TNT’s “Major Crimes” and Chloe Noelle of HBO’s “True Blood”. A-list actor Thomas Jane of HBO’s “Hung” introduced the show, stating “Tonight, nature and design come alive in gowns that invoke the beauty and the magic of Spring’s transcendent dawning”.

Designer Sue Wong stated: “I tried to capture that feeling beauty that exists in the very fibres of both fashion and nature”. Her collection was inspired by the 19th century Transcendentalist movement’s reverence of the natural world. Ravishing dresses in supple fabrics in warm and vibrant hues of Spring , adorned with couture flourishes, including embroidery, hand beadwork and appliqués, came down the catwalk, draped to move effortlessly with a woman’s body. And ones more, the collection reiterates Sue Wong’s unmatched ability to create wearable elegance. The grandeur of the dresses was complemented by the sleek sophistication of the hair courtesy of Prive Salun and Laurent Dufourg, makeup by Napoleon Perdis and Danielle Hawkes and jewellery by Vilaiwan.

The entire event was filmed in 3D, in conjunction with the 5th 3DFF, *D Film, Music and Interactive Festival, as well as a subject of the forthcoming documentary “Fashion and Culture” in Los Angeles, directed by Catherine Bauknight. The film features Sue Wong as among the city’s most iconic and influential creative innovators.
