Groundbreaking ceremony for Monforts new Advanced Technology Centre
The groundbreaking ceremony for Monforts new Advanced Technology Centre to be built has taken place in Mönchengladbach (D) and in presence of Zhan Jie, Chairman of the China Hi-Tech Group the new owner of A. Monforts Textilmaschinen GmbH & Co. Ltd
The China Hi-Tech Group is the only state owned textile machine manufacturer in China, and according to in-house information com the world’s second-largest textile machine supplier. The group owns also Chinese Fong’s Group which in turn has recently acquired all Monforts shares from the German Possehl Group.

The new Monforts technology centre will be located at Blumenberger Strasse and will be operative at the beginning of 2013 and on a surface of around 1500 m2, almost twice the size of the old technical laboratory at the former site on Schwalmstrasse.
The new centre will feature the Montex 8000 new coating range that can be flexibly employed for technical textiles and a stenter for knitted fabrics and a dyeing range. Seminars and training courses will be also held in the building. According to Klaus A. Heinrichs, Monforts authorised signatory stated: “We want to attract young people to textile machine engineering and show them that textile finishing is high-tech” (see also his Guest’s Column in TextileFuture’s e-paper issue of February 2012 www.textile-future.com button e-paper). Monforts has in its ranks a person destined to promote young talent, it is Peter Tolksdorf who has the same function also at the Association of German Textile Finishers and thus a direct contact to approach young researchers.
