Founder of Fashion Brand Shanghai Tang bestowed

Hong Kong born entrepreneur Sir David Tang KBE has been awarded on July 20, 2012 with an honorary degree by Middlesex University London (GB) in recognition of his contribution to industries, including fashion and hospitability

Sir David Tang KBE is the founder of the top fashion and lifestyle brand Shanghai Tang and as well he founded the China Clubs in Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore. He has other business ventures in the restaurant business in Island Tang in Hong Kong, China Tang in London, and Cipriani in Hong Kong, London and New York, before he was working in oil and gold mining. In addition, he was an advisor and director of numerous international companies such as Blackstone, the Savoy Group of Hotels, Asprey, Gerrard, Tommy Hilfiger, British Airways and First Pacific. He has a passion for education and arts and he is teaching since the 1980s philosophy at Peking University and is holding key creative industry posts ranging from trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts to patron of the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation. He is also an avid collector of contemporary Chinese art and lover of music.

EDANA, the umbrella association of European nonwovens manufacturers and other related industries has chosen the New Board of Governors 2012-13 and elected Patricia Featherstone as new Chairwoman, she served before as Vice Chairwoman

To the Board of Governors have also been appointed Gerd Ries (Johnson & Johnson) as returning vice-co-chairperson and Treasurer Paul Eevers (Unilever) each to serve another term and Jean-Marie Becker (Suominen Nonwovens) past Chairman will serve also as vice-co-chairperson.

Patricia Featherstone pledged to support the Vision 2020 and the EDANA 2.0 programme.
