The new Universal Standards for Colour and Leaf of US Upland Cotton

The new standard from USDA Memphis (USA) is valid from July 1, 2012 until June 2013

The grades are as follows: 11 good middling white colour and leaf grade 1, 21 strict middling white colour and leaf grade 2, 31 middling white colour and leaf grade 3, 41 strict low middling white colour and leaf grade 4, 51 low middling white colour and leaf grade 5, 61 strict good ordinary white colour and leaf grade 6 and 71 good ordinary white colour and leaf grade 7. Then 23 strict middling spotted colour, 33 middling spotted colour, 43 strict low middling spotted colour, 53 low middling spotted colour and 63 strict good ordinary spotted colour, to be followed by 34 middling tinged colour, 44 strict low middling tinged colour and 54 low middling tinged colour.

The responsible Committee of the Bremen Cotton Exchange has approved these standards on June 27, 2012. The standards can be viewed at the arbitration room of the Bremen Cotton Exchange by appointment only.
