Erhardt+Leimer reports on a successful ITMA Asia + CITME

German Erhardt+Leimer (automation specialist) declared “Shanghai was worth a visit” in reviewing the results of its participation as an exhibitor at the recent ITMA Asia + CITME textile machinery exhibition in Shanghai (PRC)

The company’s Division Textiles had mostly visitors from Asia (95 %) and Klaus Baumann, Manager of the Division states: It presents a major challenge for a European enterprise to establish itself firmly on the Asian markets and reviewing the results of the exhibition, he concludes that his company is well established. Nearly all machines displayed at the show had been equipped with stenter guiders of Erhardt+Leimer (E+L). In the focus at the exhibition were two products: the new actuator KR 60 and the web cutting system ELCUT BTA 80.

Recently E+L has increased its presence in the Asian region with further service centres in China and it established also new sales partnerships. Due to the higher wages in China – a doubling of the minimum wage within five years and thus applying to approximately over 90 % of the textile industry’s employment – the company expects even better future opportunities for its automation products for the companies are to reduce costs, avoid waste and to increase quality. The competition is high, especially from Indonesia and Vietnam.
