The ITMA Asia + CITME impressions of Italian machinery manufacturers
According to ACIMIT, the umbrella association of the Italian textile machinery manufacturers the general mood of economic uncertainty was sensed at the exhibition in Shanghai. Italian manufacturers claim that investments in new technologies are proceeding very slowly in all markets
There were 115 Italian exhibitors present and Italy was ranking number three in view to surface and the Italian booths covered around 4700 m2 or seven percent of the total space. Rank one was taken by Chinese exhibitors, covering 60 % of the surface and Germany with 9 % ranked second.
ACIMIT notes that the focus on Italian machinery was placed on the issue of sustainability, now presented with a green label certification. We have reported on the certification before on June 15,2012 (please refer to News on TextileFuture’s website http://www.textile-future.com).
ACIMIT President Sandro Salmoiraghi is convinced “that the certification of our label is an innovative element which ACIMIT has brought to the debate on sustainability for production processes”. And he concludes; “Our proposal stands out for its concreteness, and in the future, we would like to see other European textile machinery associations to join us in this project”. TextileFuture voices the opinion that this will take some time before we reach a uniform green label for European textile machinery.
