Textile initiative in Brazil

Various textile related Brazilian institutions – among Sinditêxtil – and textile and clothing entrepreneurs launched a new project for responsible and sociable textile products to respond to the growing preoccupation on environmental and social aspects of the textile business

The initiative will collect the reminders from fabric production from regional clothing manufacturers and enhance cooperation among cooperative scavengers and these will be examined in regard to recycling and reutilisation and tested for application in new fibres and materials, fabrics, etc. to be used in the automotive sector. In Brazil 175 million t of such production rests are produced and 90 % of it is not reused and at the same time also 13 million t are imported.
