Initial steps for new TENCEL® production site in Austria under way

Within 24 months Austrian Lenzing Group and with an investment of around EUR 130 million will erect a new production site for Tencel® fibres

The project has already successfully passed the environmental impact assessment process within nine months after filing and therefore the building permit issued by the Office of the Provincial Government of Upper Austria has been granted. Once in operation ,the new plant will generate 110 additional qualified jobs.

The first TENCEL® plant was initiated 20 years ago and the first lyocell fibres came to the market, now globally sold under the TENCEL® brand name. The new plant will not only be the manufacturing site for the latest TENCEL® fibre but also Lenzing Modal ® specialty fibres and Lenzing FR® becoming the main specialty fibre production site for the Lenzing Group.
