Working lunch discussion will bring benefits to textile SME’s

The president of EURATEX, the umbrella association of EU textile and clothing manufacturers, Alberto Paccanelli – accompanied by a selected number of CEO’s of Europe’s biggest fashion companies – met over a working lunch EU Commission Vice-President Antonio Tajany, responsible for Industry and Entrepreneurship to discuss open issues concerning the two industries

The subject discussed were the strategic importance of the need to maintain an integrated fashion value chain and that the envisioned measures will have a positive impact on the competitiveness of sectors regarding skills, innovation, protection of intellectual property rights, digital world and by ensuring worldwide reciprocity and level playing field.

All of the planned or already existing initiatives, actions and measure will be included in the Communication on key aspects of the competitiveness of the fashion industry expected to be published in the last quarter of 2012.
