Piracy and fraud have a price tag

Counterfeited products amount annually to over USD 500 billion and according to ISO, the International Standardization Organization, counterfeited products range from medicines to industrial machines and do represent 5 to 7 % of total world trade and are resulting in unsafe goods, premature failures, increased cost of legitimate products and a loss of consumer confidence.

ISO is actually developing standards for anti-counterfeiting tools and fraud countermeasures and controls.
