New York City Ballet gets designer costumes

Officially Italian designer Valentino (80) is retired since 2008 but now he is back to create new costumes for the Autumn Gala of the American New York City Ballet

The event will be taking place on September 20, 2012 and the performance is George Balanchine’s Ballet “Rubies” in honour of Valentino’s famous red creations – his particular brand. Valentino (Garavani) will design the costumes for the three performances of that eve including the new Ballet-performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”. Valentino’s motivation is that ballet offers beauty, grace and flow, and of course he feels honoured that his legendary art is celebrated in such a manner. Already in 2009 Valentino designed costumes for the Vienna Ballet.
