Nonwovens – a standard work

The second edition of the technical book “Nonwovens” (only in German) will be published in coming July at Wiley-Verlag, Weinheim (D) and will then be commercially available (ISBN-10: 3-527-31519-5)

This standard work established by nonwoven experts under the leadership of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hilmar Fuchs, Chairman of STFI Saxon Textile Research Institute, Chemnitz (D), will be making statements on raw materials, processing and testing as well as to the multiple applications of nonwovens.

Clariant Denim Book – from cotton to fashion

At Denim by Première Vision (May 23-24 in Paris (F) – see also Events on http://www.textile-future.com ) specialty chemicals manufacturer Clariant International will launch its new Clariant Denim Book

The Denim Book is based on the company’s long experience working with the denim industry and as specialists for dyes and process solutions. The book offers denim professionals, fashion designers and buyers or passionate about denim a complete overview of denim manufacturing – from cotton to fashion. It is written by Clariant’s specialist team in Barcelona (E) and contains an overview of the history and development of the denim industry, helpful insights into the different process steps and products currently applied in the manufacturing of jeans.

Booklet on cotton varieties

ICA Bremen the global centre for cotton testing has released a commercially available booklet on “Cotton Varieties”. It is providing useful information in view to characteristics of cotton varieties and they are listed according to their origin. ICA Bremen (founded in 2011) combines the global reach of the International Cotton Association (ICA) with the quality expertise of Bremer Baumwollboerse (BBB) and the Bremen Fibre Institute (FIBRE).
