Bangladesh’s first impregnated net plant
BASF Grameen Ltd. a social business joint venture between German chemical giant BASF and Grameen Healthcare Trust of Bangladesh have launched a local production plant in Social Business Industrial Park in Sarabo
The plant will manufacture long lasting insecticide impregnated nets under the brand Interceptor® in order to help prevent malaria infections effectively. The plant is owned and operated by Grameen Fabrics & Fashion Ltd. and the nets will be marketed by BASF Grameen Ltd.
These mosquito nets are coated with BASF insecticide Fendona® and the offer effective protection for several years and they provide the WHO requirements for “LLIN Long lasting insecticide impregnated net”. The nets retain their properties for up to 20 washes depending on local conditions.
