New fibre for work and protection wear

Already last year Dutch located Sabic (a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) Innovative Plastics TM (over 80 years of experience in technical plastics and a today’s turnover of several billion USD and subsidiaries in 35 countries and offering around 9000 collaborators a job around the globe) has launched a fibre made of Ultem®Polyethermid (PEI)

Japan Wool Textile, a member of NIKKE Group, is adding the Ultem fibre to manufacture yarns, fabrics and clothing and with wool or other materials allowing a unique combination of comfort and protection, foremost a durable flame resistance without the use of halogen and offering excellent UV resistance. In contrast to the use of aramid fibres Ultem is offering an easy and cost effective dyeing process as used for polyester still allowing tremendous colouring variations. In the case of Japan Wool Textile the new fibre is additionally used to give its products (shirts, trousers, jackets and overalls as well as yarn and fabrics with a high content of Ultem) a more aesthetic look.
