World Resources Forum diversifies conference locations

Following the different crises of the past ten years and the immediate challenge of dramatically improved management of global natural resources, the World Resources Forum will expand its activities from the bi-annual events in Davos (CH) to start new conferences and smaller sized meetings globally (China (2012), India in 2013, Africa (2012) and Latin America) and for that purpose the new WRF World Resources Forum Association has been inaugurated on March 16, 2012

The founders of the new WRF Associations are the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) and HP Hewlett-Packard. Xavier Edelmann will serve as the first President and he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Empa and he is joined by the following members: Bruno Oberle (Head of FOEN), Fredy Brunner (City Council St. Gall), Alice Kadia (Environmental Secretary, State of Kenya), Jinghai Li (Vice-President, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sibylle Rock (WW Stakeholder Manager, Hewlett-Packard), Hary Lehmann (Director German Environmental Agency UBA) Shoyi Li (UNEP International Resource Panel), Laura Ochoa (Master’s Student at Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich) and Anders Wijkman (Member Club of Rome). The permanent secretariat will be located in St. Gall (CH).
