Joint venture in Colour Control management student’s courses
A new joint venture exists between X-Rite and Kun Shan University, Taiwan, to offer colour control freak management courses for students and professionals in the photographic, design and graphic arts industries
Kun Shan University is one of Taiwan’s largest and fastest growing private universities with 14000 students and more than 500 faculties and it will begin to offer an intensive 16 module Colour-Control Freak course (of each 45 minutes and twice a year) in his winter semester in March to satisfy the demand for additional education in colour communication and management.
The University recognises X-Rite as an international leader in colour communication and therefore entered in a joint venture. Students will be taught to make use of palette-building software tools to select and build reproducible colour palettes and will work with different colour systems (RGB, CMYK and spot colours) and use monitor calibration to improve colour editing of both created colours and graphics. The course further addresses subjects as to work with ICC profiles, how to get better screen-to-print colour matching and monitor calibration to improve colour editing of both created and captured graphics and make use of in-house printers for accurate prints and proofs and students will work with Adobe PDF-X.
