ACTA seems not to be so sexy to the public
In several EU capital cities there are protesters in growing numbers against the ratification of ACTA Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement by the European Council
Now the European Commission takes the ratified ACTA in a surprise move to the European Court of Justice for legal guidance to get approval that it is in line with freedom of expression and freedom of the Internet. The protesters are exactly declaring that ACTA will lead to a violation of these two rights.
In addition some countries have stopped their national ratification process. ACTA has also followers outside the EU, for instance the U.S.A. has signed the act. Besides the fashion and textile industry the foremost sectors are the music and film/video industries. In other words all those whose products are most subjected to counterfeiting.
