Good news from Hong Kong
The Asian Financial Forum (AFF) 2012 in Hong Kong (January 16 -17) registered more than 2000 participants and some very prominent speakers were present. All came to the conclusion that the Euro Zone crisis and the Chinese economy involve some risks but nevertheless that the chances for growth in Asia remain intact. Also an optimistic atmosphere was felt at the Hong Kong Fashion Week and World Boutique Open during these days.
The Twin Fairs Hong Kong Fashion Week and World Boutique (January 16 – 19, 2012) – according to in-house information the largest event of its kind in Asia – and celebrating ten years of existence – attracted some 1900 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions and more than 110 buying missions representing over 5300 buyers from 43 countries were registered. Newcomers came from Denmark, Jordan, Nepal and the UAE United Arab Emirates. Accompanying the fairs were 20 fashion shows, including signature events Fashion Extravaganza and the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers Contest and the Knitwear Innovation & Design Society and the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association presented the new lines from their members. Additionally a full program of seminars focusing on trend forecasting and design was on offer, including a seminar on Merino Wool presented by Australian Wool Innovation.
