Fibre manufacturer Lenzing (A) and fabric and specialty materials manufacturer TenCate (NL) are benefitting from President Barack Obama’s signing of the National Defense Authorization Act.

This signature, respectively the enacting content allows a permanent waiver for those suppliers of materials for a new generation of U.S. Army combat uniforms under the name of “TenCate Defender TMM”. This means that deliveries are for an unlimited period of time. The key component in the fabric of TenCate is the flame-resistant and heat protection specialty fibre Lenzing FR® from Austrian Lenzing Group and was already used since 2008 under a limited exemption from the rule that only clothing products “Made in USA” were allowed for the use of the U.S. Army, now delivery is permitted unlimited.
