Change of plant ownership
Swiss Rieter textile machinery announces today that Bühler Group (CH) is acquiring two of its manufacturing plants in the Czech Republic located in Zamberk and Usti nad Orlici, both up to now part of Rieter CZ, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rieter Group. The plants served for the production of subassemblies, components and sheet metal parts mainly destined for Rieter but progressively also for third parties. The plants employed at the end of 2010 a workforce of 315 collaborators and all will be transferred to the new ownership and Bühler (process engineering, production technologies and services for manufacturing foodstuffs and technical materials, present in 140 countries and with a workforce of 7800 worldwide generating 2010 a turnover of CHF 1907 million) plans to further invest in these sites and sees the acquisition – to be completed in January 2012 – as an expansion of its manufacturing capacity in Europe and particularly in Eastern Europe and under efficient and cost effective production, high quality standards and operating close to the markets. The sold plants will continue to cater also to the needs of Rieter however in the light of production transfers to Asia at lower volume. Rieter declares that this transaction – the price was not made public – will allow additional flexibility in manufacturing and provides at the same time optimal prospects for the two plants. The remaining Rieter activities at Usti nad Orlici and Boskovice do not form part of this deal with Bühler.
