China wants more industrial textile production
The CNTAC China National Textile Industry Council declares industrial textiles as a new source of growth for the textile industry and the national economic development under the ongoing restructuring of the textile sector. This move should underline the intent to upgrade textile production in China adding a higher degree of technology, higher productivity, broader application and most of all value. There is already a technical textile production in place serving medical, environmental fields, transportation, space, aviation and new energy applications. According to estimates of CNTAC vice president Xu Kunyan the future potential market value is estimated at one trillion RMB (around USD156.74 billion). In 2009 the output of the domestic production of technical textiles reached 7.23 million tonnes or a value of around RMB 240 billion.
