SHIMA SEIKI to Exhibit at ISPO Munich 2020

Leading computerised knitting machine manufacturer SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan, together with its Italian subsidiary SHIMA SEIKI ITALIA S.p.A., will participate at the ISPO exhibition in Munich, Germany (February 26 – 29, 2020 at Messe Munich, Bavaria, Germany)

SHIMA SEIKI is a corporate partner to ISPO Brandnew, a special platform for promising newcomers to the sports industry.

On display at booth BN04 in the ISPO Brandnew section will be SHIMA SEIKI’s flagship MACH2XS WHOLEGARMENT® knit ting machine that features such innovations as the original SlideNeedle™ on four needle beds as well as the company’s patented springloaded moveable sinker system. It can knit highquality Items with dimensional structures and details that are unique to WHOLEGARMENT®, all without seams. Seamfree knitwear is ideal for training and athletics, removing a major source of discomfort, chafing, and limitations in stretch while opening new possibilities for wearable technolo gy. Produced in its entirety on the knitting machine, WHOLEGARMENT® is sustainable sportswear that consumes only the minimum amount of materials required for that item. MACH2XS at ISPO furthermore features the new Tension Control option, capable of adjusting yarn feed amount according to the stretch property of each yarn, supporting production using elastic yarns which are so widespread among sportswear and compression wear yet so difficult to handle. The Tension Control option in combination with SHIMA SEIKI’s renowned iDSCS+DTC® Digital Stitch Control System with intelligence and Digital Tension Control system assures consistent quality control for these items. The MACH2XS machine will be knitting a base layer shirt knit with elastic yarn to demonstrate this feature. The latest sportswear sam ples produced on MACH2XS and other machines will be on display as well.

Also on display will be SHIMA SEIKI’s new SDSONE APEX4 design system, the fourth generation of its series and the most powerful, most efficient APEX to date. Processing speeds for programming and simulation are improved by up to 600 per cent compared to the previousgeneration SDSONE APEX3, for quicker response especially in virtual sampling. Virtual sampling based on ultrarealistic simulation improves on the design evaluation process by minimizing the need for actual samplemaking. This realizes significant savings in time, cost and material, further contributing to sustainable manufacturing.
