Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC), part of Barry-Wehmiller, is pleased to announce that Prestige-Pak of Fond du Lac has purchased a new Fusion C flexographic press. The press will be the second Fusion C (and the fourth PCMC press) for Prestige-Pak, a second-generation, family-owned business, and producer of printed and laminated flexible packaging materials.

“We’re looking forward to our new Fusion C press,” said Vince Kuber, President of Prestige-Pak. “Our Fusion C and Fusion presses have helped us better meet the needs and requirements of our customers. We’ve experienced significant growth, and that has prompted us to add an additional press. One deciding factor in choosing PCMC is the fact that the company’s machines are engineered and built in the United States.”

Prestige Pak will be adding a second Fusion C Press to its PCMC presses

The Fusion C is loaded with fast make-ready and waste-saving features, all in a smaller footprint with fewer parts. This reliable flexographic press also includes PCMC’s SteadyPrint print-stabilization technology, winner of the 2019 FTA Technical Innovation Award. With this feature, the bearing arrangement is coupled with an algorithm that uses noise-canceling technology to largely remove the impact of bounce when printing graphics with hard edges. With patents pending on all features, SteadyPrint is currently the only product on the market using this kind of technology to eliminate disturbances and monitor in real time.

Prestige-Pak’s second Fusion C press will continue to help the company move forward with its vision of excellence and customer satisfaction through state-of-the-art equipment, preferred vendor affiliations, rigid industry certification and environmental stewardship.

“It’s a privilege for PCMC to continue to be able to grow with Prestige-Pak,” said Mike Shaw, Regional Sales Manager, PCMC. “We’re honoured to be part of the growth of a fellow Wisconsin company.”

HeiQ Hangtags: More sustainable, multi-lingual and optimised process

Beginning January 1, 2020, standard hangtags will be included in the price for any HeiQ product. The applicant (brand, mill or garment maker) will only need to pay for shipping with their courier number. Our hangtag warehouse moved to China to reduce shipping fees. We will still charge for printing custom hangtags.

We have updated the copy for all hangtags to be multi-lingual and they include now English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The HeiQ Fresh BPR hangtag (for HeiQ Pure TAG and SPQR) for global use for brands that sell into the EU will include English, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish as the Scandinavian countries are known for enforcing language requirements on products containing silver. If brands are using HeiQ Fresh FFL, they can use the hangtag with only English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

These are the new standard hangtags which replace the current English-only hangtags. The single-language hangtags will only be available as customized layout.

All new hangtags are now printed on recycled paper, with an indication on the hangtag. During the first half of 2020, we will also provide Asian multi-lingual hangtags including English, Japanese, Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Korean. We will also work on combination hangtags which include multiple technologies.

Applying for hangtags has been streamlined as well – all hangtags are now required to be requested on our website: www.heiq.com/hangtags (all of these requests will go directly to hangtags@heiq.com).

Please note our 2020 closure dates to request hangtags due to holidays:

• January 13-February 2, 2020

• April 10-13, 2020

• October 1-3, 2020

• December 24-28, 2020

Beside hangtags, HeiQ offers all kinds of ingredient branding tools and marketing support.
