Fulgar has developed a technological upgrade to make its Q-NOVA® eco-yarn made from regenerated fibres totally traceable throughout the supply chain.

Now Q-NOVA® is also becoming traceable. A special ingredient in the polyamide, the innovative traceability system called ID (Identity) developed by Fulgar, makes it possible to verify the authenticity of the yarn’s recycled origins.

Now it will be possible to put our ideas into practice. Our ID system shows that traceability is a serious matter and means the entire supply chain must take on the responsibility”.

It is the first yarn to include the new Q-NOVA® technology. Q-NOVA® is the eco-friendly fibre by Fulgar that makes the company’s production processes more sustainable because it is obtained exclusively from regenerated raw materials using a mechanical rather than chemical process.  The innovative yarn has also obtained a series of green certifications, including the Global Recycled Standard and Ecolabel EU. It is also now entered on the HIGG INDEX, an index assessing the environmental impact of a garment’s entire life cycle, developed by the SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition).

VERIFY THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE YARN’S RECYCLED ORIGINS

Now Q-NOVA® is also becoming traceable. A special ingredient in the polyamide, the innovative traceability system called ID (Identity) developed by Fulgar, makes it possible to verify the authenticity of the yarn’s recycled origins. 

The ID system now means it is possible for third party organisations like consumer associations and government ministries to make these investigations. A further evolution of ID is currently being developed – in a few years a special scanner and garment labelling system will enable consumers to identify the yarn’s eco origins directly at the sales point. 

Q-NOVA® is an environmentally-sustainable nylon 6.6 fibre obtained exclusively from regenerated raw materials and which meets given traceability requirements.

Q-NOVA® AND THE ENVIRONMENT​

This is why Fulgar has put together a highly ecological product which aims to reduce CO2 emissions, consume less water and use renewable energy.

THE MCS PROCESS

The MCS process is a mechanical regeneration system which does not involve using chemical materials which would detract from the sustainability of the end product.

Q-NOVA® is made up exclusively of scraps coming from Fulgar Italy’s facilities: these materials were unusable in any other way and would have been disposed of as external waste.

The discarded materials are recast using a mechanical regeneration process after which they return to Fulgar in the form of a polymer which is then integrated into further processing stages.
