Gardeur’s Collection Report MICHÈLE Winter 2019/20

Powered Casual

Here the new silhouettes play a prominent role. Wide-leg styles in soft, flowing wool blends are in evidence alongside top-pleat trousers with tiny turn-ups. Slightly cropped suit pants in a slim-fit cigarette cut, some with discreet zippers on the hemline, toy with gender characteristics and give this theme a natural straight-forwardness. All new are Cropped Kick styles in double-face fabrics and jersey jacquards. Galloon stripes underscore this new, slim silhouette slightly flared towards the hem. Furthermore, the theme features cropped wide-leg styles with wide waistbands. Geometric patterns as well as checks ranging from small Higgins plaids to x-large glen checks underline the fashion statement. The colour scheme is neutral and classy. Graduated grey shades as well as camel and greige tones combine an exquisite appearance with natural ease.

Staged Nature

Staged Nature stands for a relaxed style suitable for versatile everyday looks. Here synergies from nature point the way. Flowing, supple corduroys with broad ribs are a strong trend theme. They are re-interpreted in casual pants, with a loose drape, some of them with top pleats, wider shaped waistbands or cropped with little turn-ups. Also centrestage are denims made particularly soft and exquisite by new washes. Extraordinary embroidery such as golden chain motifs, sequin flowers or embroidered fur textures with a smart shine, provide these jeans with understated luxury. Aristocratic accessories such as enamelled buttons and leather labels with a slightly metallic shine underline this look.  The world of colours comprises predominantly natural, terracotta-type tones. Warm camel, curry and greige contrast with dark green and blue shades. Fine accents are created by cinnamon and berry. Prints, jacquards and accessories draw on inspirations from the animal kingdom. Animal prints look authentic thanks to their dynamism and are therefore easy to combine.

Dynamic World

Technical materials with various fabric weights and surfaces form the basis of this theme. Colours are clear and rich. Bold blue and red side by side with dark green build suspense when combined with black & white combinations. Small geometric designs lead the way here. Details such as zippers, piping and contrasting inserts give trousers a modern, sporty look. Tech-feel fabrics such as jerseys – both plain and printed – feature in figure-hugging styles – some with tucks or galloons that make legs appear longer. Smooth, tech-feel fabrics with a soft drape are used for informal athleisure styles that play around the body with wider legs.
