The summer is drawing to a close and we need to take stock of the summer:
The Institute of Textile Technology (ITA) at RWTH Aachen University has adapted to the general festival summer and took part in the Wear It Festival in Berlin. Which Smart Textiles can go into series production and when – this is the topic of the “SmartStage Smart Textile Platform” project presented by the ITA at the Wear It Festival. The platform should help to accelerate the multitude of good product ideas that exist for smart textiles by cooperation of different partners in their developments and to bring them into series production. Detailed information can be found here.
The double bass made of carbon offers a musical highlight. Together with the specialist for string instruments, the company mezzo-forte, scientists of the ITA have developed a double bass made of carbon. The double bass can be dismantled and can therefore be transported more easily on journeys without having to check in expensive bulky luggage. The article of the Aachener Zeitung/Aachener Nachrichten can be found here.
