Since 2004, the Egyptian Qualified Industrial Zones (QIZ) program has provided duty-free sourcing opportunities to the United States while promoting peace between Egypt and Israel with the support of the U.S. government.
As a result of this program, Egyptian exports of ready-made garments and textiles to the United States have grown substantially. In fact, in the first half of 2018, Egyptian apparel exports to the United States grew 25.27 percent, the highest growth rate among the top 25 suppliers.
