The QS World University Rankings 2024 has revealed its highly anticipated list of the top global universities. In this latest release, Finnish universities have made their mark, showcasing their academic excellence on the world stage.

Rounding up the top five Finnish universities are the University of Oulu (313th), the University of Turku (315th), and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT (351st).

Other notable Finnish universities to be included in the ranking this year are Tampere University (436th), the University of Jyväskylä (446th), the University of Eastern Finland (548th), and Åbo Akademi University (601-610).

Earlier this year, the annual QS World University Rankings by Subject prominently feature Finnish universities, showcasing their expanded global approach to higher education.

The QS World University Rankings are based on an analysis of 17.5 million academic papers, supplemented by feedback from over 240 000 academic faculty members and employers.

Through an evaluation of 1500 institutions across 104 locations, the ranking offers valuable insights into universities’ performance and impact. To determine the universities’ positions, the rankings consider various key criteria, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, international student ratio and international faculty ratio.
