The international biennial scientific conference ‘New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics’ (NTTS), organised by Eurostat, is back! This conference will take place in Brussels between of March 7 and 9, 2023, with satellite events happening on March 6 and 10, 2023. If you cannot make it to Brussels, you can also participate online.
The NTTS conference focuses on new techniques and methods for official statistics and the impact of new technologies on statistical collection, production, and dissemination systems. Its objective is to present results from ongoing research and innovation projects in official statistics and to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new projects aimed at enhancing the quality and usefulness of official statistics, by encouraging the exchange of views and cooperation between researchers.
Paolo Gentiloni, Commissioner for the Economy, and Mariana Kotzeva, Director-General of Eurostat, will take the stage for the opening speeches on the first day of the event.
Topics in discussion include data collection and integration, innovation in statistics, data analytics revolution, estimation and analysis, data reuse and sharing, outreach to users, communication and dissemination. For specific topics, visit the conference’s main page.
To complete the conference, there are also many satellite events planned: European Big Data Hackathon 2023; the workshops ‘Introduction to MOTUS: a data collection platform for Time Use Survey (TUS) and the Household Budget Survey (HBS)’, ‘Web Intelligence in Practice. How to use content from the web for enterprise statistics?’ and ‘Earth Observation and Machine Learning’; and ‘Innovation Day’, an event dedicated to identifying the needs to support and enhance innovation across the European Statistical System and effective methods for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.
