The European Commission has proposed (i) on December 8, 2022, a series of measures to modernise and make the EU’s Value-Added Tax (VAT) system work better for businesses and more resilient to fraud by embracing and promoting digitalisation; and (ii) new tax transparency rules for all service providers facilitating transactions in crypto-assests for customers resident in the European Union.
