Register now: EU Data stories on regional development

The European Week of Regions and Cities 2022 (#EURegionsWeek) is almost here, and we would like to invite you to join our events.

On October 12, 2022, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM CEST, Eurostat and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will be hosting the workshop, ‘Facts Matter: Data stories on regional development’.

The workshop will be online through Zoom, and registrations are now open via Swapcard, an easy-to-use system that allows you to not only register but also engage with the community, network, and schedule one-to-one meetings with our speakers.

The session will showcase how regional statistics can help to differentiate the impact of crises in a complex environment and support policymakers in choosing the best policies to deal with crises and promote recovery. OECD’s Paolo Veneri, Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis, Data and Statistics Division, and Eurostat’s statistical officers Bianka Fohgrub, Aleksandra Galic and Oliver Heiden from the Regional statistics and geographical information unit will be speaking at the event.

OECD will present data stories from the forthcoming Regions and Cities at a Glance, covering economic, demographic, social and environmental aspects.

Eurostat will showcase examples from the Eurostat Regional Yearbook 2022 and the Regions in Europe – interactive edition, which both will be released and go live on 7 October.

On October 13, 2022, at 10:30 AM CEST, Eurostat will have a 15-minute Exhibitor’s Pitch, ‘Explore the statistics for your region!’.

Moreover, Eurostat’s virtual exhibition ‘Your free access to European Regional Statistics’ will be accessible via Swapcard from mid-September.

Join us now! Once you registered and created your profile, you can chat with other participants and ask questions in advance to speakers. You also can react and answer to other people’s messages, and you will be entitled to chat and ask questions through the Zoom chat during the live sessions.
